The Artists Advisory Group has been set up to drive the World Arts Platform forward and to act as a body to ensure the World Arts Platform is being developed to its full potential.
Filiz Ozcan
Filiz, is a drama graduate from Aberystwyth University and has assistant directed Top Girls and directed The Mountain Language as part of her directing course. She has worked with Ophaboom and Company Collisions as a performer. Filiz directing credits include: Nick Bain’s short play The Fifth Horseman and she wrote & directed All for Honour, 2008, at Tara Studios. She has also worked with Tara as an assistant director on: Rokeya’s Dream, Sonata, and The Rape of Lucrece. Filiz is co-director of Tara Artsbeat Youth Theatre Company and will direct a production of Ali Baba for that company in November 2009. She is currently working with the World Arts Platform & Broxbourne Council to create a performance for young children & families, combining traditional stories & recipes from Turkey called Turkish Delights.Marlene Tanti
Ceramic Artist/Craftsperson
I am currently working on new ideas for developing my ceramics. I am exploring a variety of decorating techniques at different stages of the making process. I am also working on ceramic pieces in connection with water or garden features, making forms that can be used with or amongst plants, and on whose surface I can apply individual decorative designs.
My particular interests in decorating has been at the initial clay stage, when it is possible to incise and make marks in the clay before it is fired, and to then further enhance the incising with the use of oxides and glazes.
