Filiz Ozcan

Filiz Ozcan is a director of Theatre, Festival and a member of the World Arts Platform artist advisory group. Currently she is working for the New Vic Borderlines as Young Peoples Theatre Company Director and Theatre Practitioner.Recently Filiz has directed a Research and Development project Bonbibi exploring the impact of natural disasters on the wildlife in Bangladesh. Filiz has been one of the directors of the Shakespeare Remix season in Tara Studio 2010. She has been the director of ArtsBeat, TARA’s community theatre group since 2008 which she has directed: Othello, Twelfth Night, Macbeth, Midsummer Night’s Dream and Romeo and Juliet. Filiz has worked on a three year cultural and heritage project 'Sailing to Britain' for the 2012 Olympics exploring Lascar stories. She has worked with World Arts Platform and Broxbourne Council in creating a performance for young children and families, combining traditional stories and recipes from Turkey called Turkish Delights. As an assistant director Filiz has worked on the following productions: Rape of Lucrece, Rokeya’s Dream, Sonata and Blindeye Theatre Company’s research and development project in Trestle Theatre looking at human rights stories.
