Dean, whose recent poem I Am Nobodys N****r gained worldwide praise in response to the Stephen Lawrence murder trial and racism in Britain, will work with EAL and BME pupils from three Hertfordshire secondary schools. Dean has a strong record of working with young people and has won many awards for his own work including the Spirit of London Award for Achievement Through the Arts and the BEFFTA Award for Best Spoken Word Artist/Poet. Dean will be working in the schools during March and their work will be published in May 2012.

We are seeking contributions from writers living, studying or working in Hertfordshire, who use English as a second language, to submit a short story, poem or song from your childhood. We are looking for work that explorers the magic of those very first stories, and that gives the reader a chance to learn about the meaning of stories in other, far away (or not so far away) places. Creative writing workshops May 2012

We will be running FREE writing workshops at various libraries across Hertfordshire that will feature in the 2nd issue of Write from the Heart. The theme is 'CELEBRATIONS'.
